Italian-Style Soba Meshi (Noodles and Rice)

Use your leftover spaghetti and rice to make this yummy, fried egg-topped fusion food.


  • 120 grams cooked rice
  • 50 grams cooked spaghetti, cut into small pieces
  • 30 grams thinly-sliced beef, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 10 grams mushroom, thinly sliced
  • 5 basil leaves
  • 10 grams butter
  • Sauce:
  • 90 grams canned tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons white wine
  • 1 egg
  • Fresh basil


  1. Melt butter in a pan and cook garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add in chopped onion and beef and cook until meat is no longer pink. Add in mushroom slices and cook for another minute.
  3. Add in canned tomatoes, ketchup, worcestershire sauce and white wine and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Add in the spaghetti pieces and rice and stir-fry for another minute. Transfer to a plate.
  5. Cook the egg in a frying pan sunny-side up.
  6. Slide the egg right on top and garnish with a fresh basil leaf.
