Ingredients

Japanese-Style Stuffed Bell Peppers

  • 4 bell peppers
  • 150 grams flour
  • 150 grams water
  • 40 grams shredded cheese
  • Panko bread crumbs
  • Flour
  • Vegetable oil
  • Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce

Filling

  • 150 grams tofu, drained well
  • 200 grams ground pork
  • 1/3 onion, minced
  • 20 grams panko bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Steps

Japanese-Style Stuffed Bell Peppers

  1. Combine flour and water to make a batter and set aside.
  2. Cut off the top of the bell peppers and scoop out the seeds with a spoon. Dust the insides with flour.
  3. Fill the bell peppers with the filling halfway up. Fill up with cheese and top it off with more filling. Secure by placing the top of the bell pepper back on and dust all over with flour.
  4. Place the stuffed peppers into the batter. Then coat with panko bread crumbs.
  5. Deep-fry in hot oil for 5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve with Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce.

  1. Combine all ingredients for the filling and mix well.
