- Hey guys, today we are doing a fun tasting video where I'm trying different snacks from Latin America. These are all snacks that I have never had before, from countries that I've actually never visited before. Oh, except Mexico! I have been to Mexico. Ah, so I'm excited to dig in. We've got a mixture of crunchy and salty and sweet and drinks and caramel and, I don't even know where to start but I think maybe the best place is with crunchy. So I'm gonna go for these Chicharron. Chicharron? Chicharron! I can't make the r roll sound. It sounds like I'm making fun of it, but I literally, I'm so sorry. So these actually say they're a product of Canada, which is super funny, but they've got the Mexico flag on it and I bought them from a Mexican market, so I'm assuming that it's a traditional recipe. I've never tried them before. They are pork craklin's. Smells kind of porky, smells preserved, definitely. A little bit like beef jerky. Ah! Oh! Am I supposed to just eat them like this? Are they like chips or should they go in something? Very crunchy and very porky! They're pretty greasy on the fingers and I don't know that I could eat more than a few. So, delicious, I like it. Not quite sure if it's my favorite thing that I've ever had. Let's go this next one. I'm really excited about this one, because I have no idea. This one comes in ring form, and it is called Cheese Rings. So let's dive in. They're gorgeous! I love the shape and that light orangy color. Smells cheesy but not like, like I was anticipating mac and cheese cheesy and like Cheetos cheesy. It's not like that, it's a little more like Parmesan. Oh! Oh, this is fun! So it's really crunchy, but it's like a puffed Cheeto. Nice and crunchy but it dissolves in your mouth, and I was right it does taste a little bit more salty like that Parmesan cheese kind of tang to it. Seba, selling everything bakes, that is appetizing. That's kind of how you do an acronym. This next one, Sweet Plantain Chips. You think sweet plantain is different from not sweet plantain? Oh that is good! It's got the thinness of a potato chip. A little bit chewier in crunch, 'cause you kind of break it open and then your saliva makes it a bit chewy. And just a really fun, kind of light, fresh taste to back it up. Mm-mm! All right, so now I thought we could move along to the sweet. I have these here, Rollitos. Guava and milk caramel rolls. I don't really smell caramel at all. I'm smelling the guava, it's strong smell of fruit. Let's try it. Mm-mm! Gosh, I love guava. This is sweet. This is sickeningly sweet. Got this really smooth, gorgeous texture. I feel like the sugar on the outside is overkill. But in terms of the actually, just like flavor, the combination, I would never put caramel and guava together and I really like that combo. These are good. Okay, this next one I'm really excited about. We are doing this kind of fun, crunchy wafer bar. This is another product of Columbia, and it looks like your typical kind of Kit Kat wafer style. I'm not sure what's in between the layer though. Let's try it. Mm-mm! It's coconut! Oh, oh yes! I'm looking at this like I'm gonna understand something. What a great combo! This is a winner in my books. I love coconut, love the crispy wafer. So, so fun to eat. Okay, let's move on. So this little guy is from Ecuador. No idea what flavor it is, and I can't seem to understand anything on the wrapper or decipher. Cocoa, ooh, so perhaps chocolate? Is cocoa chocolate in Spanish? I just realized that's probably a really dumb thing I just said. Mm-mm! I'm gonna do something that's gonna just make a lot of you cringe here. Oh! It tastes kind of coconuty, but also kind of like cane sugar. Well I'll tell you what, whatever it is, it is friggin' delicious. I love it! I think this is a must try if you see it in the stores. This one is cute, Frunas, fruits! I saw these when I went to the market, the Latin market. I saw these everywhere. You could get them in lots of different sizes and different flavors and they kind of look like Starburst upon first inspection. Doesn't have much of a smell. Mm-mm, it's banana! Oh, you guys have no idea how much I love banana flavored things. Oh my gosh! These are so good. You wanna try one, cameraman? He's smiling, he likes it. Why didn't I buy the big pack? Should have bought the big pack. I have one last thing to try, and it was recommended to me by the woman who works there. She said I can't do kind of a Latin America tasting video without trying this cola. So. Okay, here we go. Whoa! Wow, that's so cool! It's like if Cream Soda and Coke had a baby. No word of a lie. I'm totally digging it. The flavor is wild! What an invention. Well thank you guys so much for watching this South American snacky food. I hope you guys get to try some of these. Thanks for watching and I'll see you next time.
