Fried Lobster Tail

If you like popcorn shrimp, you'll love this ridiculously crispy lobster tail.

Ingredients

  • 1 lobster
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 perilla leaf
  • 1 slice cheese
  • 1/2 bag kappa ebisen (shrimp snack)
  • Tempura batter
  • Water
  • Vegetable oil

Steps

  1. Prepare tempura batter and set aside. Smash up a bag of shrimp snack until crumbly.
  2. Carefully cut away the shell off the tail, leaving the tail end intact.
  3. Make a few slits into the flesh to prevent it from curling up during the cooking process.
  4. Sesason with salt and pepper.
  5. Wrap the shrimp tail with a perilla leaf and cheese slice. Dip the tail into tempura batter. Then coat with shrimp snack crumbs.
  6. Deep-fry on medium heat for 5-6 minutes.
