Ingredients

Kimchi Dogs with Caramelized Pineapple

  • 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 high quality beef hot dogs
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 1 cup kimchi
  • Fresh cilantro + sesame seeds, for serving

Korean BBQ Sauce

  • 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Steps

Kimchi Dogs with Caramelized Pineapple

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and once hot, add the pineapple and brown sugar. Cook until the pineapple is golden and lightly caramelized, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat.
  2. Preheat your grill or a grill pan to medium high heat. Grill the hot dogs until grill marks appear, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the grill.
  3. Add the buns to the grill and grill until lightly toasted, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. To assemble, place the hot dog in the toasted bun and top with kimchi and caramelized pineapple.

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.
