You know it'll be a good night when the sweet fruit punch is a mix of bourbon, brandy and hard cider.

Maple Apple Cider Punch

  • 1 apple, seeded and chopped

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice

  • 1 cup apple cider

  • 1 cup bourbon, whiskey or rum

  • 1 cup applejack brandy

  • Orange bitters

  • 1 bottle of Champagne or hard cider for topping off

  • Cinnamon sticks (optional)

  • Sugared rosemary

  • Rosemary sprigs

  • Granulated sugar

  • Boiling water

  • Large ice cubes

  • Oranges, thinly sliced

  • Lemons, thinly sliced

  • Apples, thinly sliced

  1. Muddle apple with maple syrup. Pour into punch bowl or serving bowl and top with remaining ingredients; stir to combine.

  2. To make sugared rosemary: dip rosemary in hot water, turn to coat, remove and toss in granulated sugar, turning to coat evenly.

  3. To make large ice cubes: use small cake pans or other small, round plastic containers. Add sliced fruit, cover with water and freeze overnight.

  4. When ready to serve, float large ice cubes and top with champagne (or hard cider) to your liking.

  5. Pour into a globe glass dipped in cinnamon-sugar and garnish with sugared rosemary.
