Margarita Granita

With tequila and lime, this frozen dessert will add lots of zest to your life.


  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup light agave
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3-4 tablespoons tequila
  • Zest of 2 limes
  • Lime slices for garnish
  • Salt for rimming serving glasses


  1. Mix water and sugar until dissolved. Stir in the agave, lime juice and tequila. Pour into a shallow dish and place in the freezer.
  2. When frozen, use a spoon to create shavings.
  3. Serve in a salt-rimmed glass with a lime wedge and lime zest on top.
