Maroon 5-Layer Trifle

A 5 layer cheesecake dessert dip in honor of Maroon 5 playing at Superbowl M53!

Ingredients

Cheesecake Base

  • 300g cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tbsp sour cream
  • 100ml cream

Red Velvet Layer

  • 1 tsp Red food dye
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • Funfetti Layer
  • 1 cup funfetti sprinkles
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste

S’Mores Layer

  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff
  • 1 cup graham crackers, chopped
  • ½ cup chocolate sauce
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Cookies and Cream Layer

  • 15 Oreos, chopped
  • 15 Oreos, crushed

Chocolate Ganache

  • 500g dark chocolate
  • 250ml thickened/whipping cream
  • 1 tsp instant coffee powder

Decorations

  • 200ml whipping cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 Oreos, halved
  • 6 maraschino cherries
  • Funfetti sprinkles to sprinkle.

Steps

Cheesecake Base

  1. Cheesecake Base
  2. To make 4 of the layers you’ll need x 4 the cheesecake base ingredients. Each layer is made up of this base except for the chocolate ganache. To make the cheesecake layer add all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and mix until well combined.

Red Velvet Layer

  1. Add the red food dye and cocoa powder to one portion of cheesecake and mix using an electric mixer until well combined.
  2. Funfetti Layer
  3. Add the funfetti and vanilla bean paste to one portion of cheesecake and fold in using a spatula.

S’Mores Layer

  1. Add the marshmallow fluff and chopped graham crackers to one portion of cheesecake and fold in using a spatula.

Cookies and Cream Layer

  1. Add the crushed Oreos to one portion of cheesecake and mix using an electric mixer until well combined. Add the chopped Oreos and fold in using a spatula.
  2. To whip the cream add the cream and vanilla extract to a large mixing bowl and whip to stiff peaks using an electric hand mixer.

Chocolate Ganache

  1. Add chocolate, instant coffee powder and cream into a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds at a time, mixing each time until smooth. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside to set. Alternatively, you may melt it using a double boiler. Fill a medium sized pot with 1/3 of the way with water. Bring to a boil. Place bowl with chocolate and cream over the top and gently mix until mixture is completely melted and smooth. To soften the ganache to spreading or piping consistency microwave for 10 seconds at a time, mixing each time with a large spatula until it reaches the right consistency. Allow to set at room temp.

Decorations

  1. To assemble the dessert dip, add the funfetti cheesecake to the bottom of a 9” trifle bowl. Use a small spatula to even it out. Then add the red velvet, followed by the s’mores layer. Drizzle the s’mores layer with chocolate sauce and sprinkles with mini marshmallows. Finish off with the cookies and cream layer and the ganache on top. Set aside in the fridge to chill for 1 hour.
  2. Finish off with a swirl of cream on top using a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Add cherries and Oreos in each swirl.
