• 2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Pinch of sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 6 cheese sticks
  • 1 1/3 cups cream cheese
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup gorgonzola cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • Oregano
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the yeast, olive oil, water, milk and sugar. Gradually stir in the flour, and mix until a dough forms. Knead by hand and form into a ball. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, mix together the cream cheese, mozzarella, gorgonzola and crushed garlic. Set aside.
  4. Set aside half of the dough, and place the remainder on a floured surface. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough into a circle. Transfer to a round baking sheet.
  5. Roll out the remaining half of the dough into a rectangle and cut off the edges. Slice dough in half lengthwise. Arrange cheese sticks down the center of each piece of dough. Roll dough around cheese, and cut into 3-inch pieces.
  6. Brush the edges of the pizza with the egg yolk. Arrange cheese stick dough pieces around the pizza and brush with more egg yolk. Use a fork to make holes in the bottom of the crust, then bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven. Add the cheese mixture to the center, sprinkle with the oregano and place back into the oven for another 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
