- 2 cups strawberries
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 cup natural cane sugar
- In a wide saucepan, combine the strawberries, water and sugar.
- Cook over low-medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and the strawberries begin to soften and break down, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Transfer to a storage jar and set aside to cool to room temperature. (Keeps for one week when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.)
