Ingredients
- 4 teaspoons yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 cups wheat flour, divided
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 tablespoons oil
- Salt
- 4 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 green pepper, cut into strips
- 1/2 yellow pepper, cut into strips
- 2 1/4 cups mozzarella cheese
- 3 hard-boiled eggs
- 2 tablespoons oregano
- 1 egg yolk, beaten
Steps
- In a medium bowl, combine the yeast, water, 1 cup of flour and sugar. Let sit for 20 minutes, then add 1 egg and the oil; mix well. Gradually add the remaining flour, then the salt. Stir to combine, then knead for 15 minutes. Cover with a clean cloth and let dough rest for 30 minutes.
- On a work surface sprinkled with flour, roll out dough into a large circle.
- Transfer dough to a Bundt cake pan, covering the entire bottom and allowing dough to hang over the sides.
- Brush inside of dough with tomato paste. Add green and yellow peppers, mozzarella, hard-boiled eggs and oregano.
- Fold the dough over the filling, and brush the outside with egg yolk. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
