• 2 potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 zucchini, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup cheese sauce
  • Shredded cheese
  • Meat sauce:
  • 5 ounces ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, minced
  • 3/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon red wine
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Roll up potatoes and zucchini slices into the shape of roses.
  3. In a frying pan, add onion and cook until beginning to brown. Add ground beef and heat until cooked through. Add tomato sauce, wine, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt and pepper. Cook until tomato sauce liquid is reduced.
  4. In a square baking dish, add the mashed potatoes and spread out evenly with a spoon. Top with white sauce and meat mixture. Add the rolled up zucchini and potatoes in rows, then top with shredded cheese.
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes, until browned.
