Potato, Bacon and Cheese Bombs

Achieve crispy perfection with deep-fried mashed potato balls stuffed with cheese and bacon.


  • 2 pounds mashed potatoes (about 4 cups)
  • 2 eggs
  • Chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt & pepper
  • 3 1/2 ounces smoked bacon
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying


  1. In a bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with 2 eggs, the chopped parsley, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
  2. Cut the smoked bacon into small pieces and sauté in a pan until golden brown.
  3. Form small balls with the mashed potatoes, and fill them with mozzarella and a piece of bacon.
  4. Dip potato balls in flour, then beaten egg, and finally breadcrumbs.
  5. Fry in oil until golden brown.
