Julie's pitting five foods against the fryer to find out if they'll puff.

Ingredients

  • Vegetable Oil
  • Soba Noodles
  • Shell Pasta
  • Wheat Berries
  • Quinoa
  • Thick Rice Noodles

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, pour in one centimetre of vegetable oil and heat over low until the oil has reached 350 F.
  2. Place a small amount of each item (one at a time) in the oil. Only attempt in a well ventilated kitchen with a hood fan. Remove from oil and let drain on a plate covered with paper towel.
