Roasted Bonito Mega Yukke Don

Pile the tuna high in this bowl filled with rice, mizuna and more. And don't forget to put an egg on it!


  • 1 sashimi-grade bonito fish
  • 1 cup rice, cooked
  • 1 bunch mizuna (Japanese mustard greens), shredded
  • 1/4 pack sprouts, roots removed
  • A pinch of shredded white onions
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Sauce:
  • 2 teaspoons gochujang
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon white sesame
  • 1/2 clove garlic, grated


  1. Roast the bonito with a kitchen torch, then slice. (Roasting over the stove also works.)
  2. In a small bowl, combine sauce ingredients.
  3. In a serving bowl, place rice, forming into a ball. Add a layer of mizuna on top, then the bonito. Top with white onions, egg yolk and sprouts. Pour sauce over top and enjoy.
