Root Beer Fajitas

Root beer is the perfect marinade for these fajitas. Deliciously tender steak meets sweet and spicy rootbeer for the perfect summer supper

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Flank steak
  • Marinade:
  • 1 can root beer
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Paprika
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 handful fresh cilantro
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1/2 a jalapeno
  • 1 Lime, juice and zest
  • 1 cup red cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 Jalapeño, thinly sliced
  • Sour cream
  • Corn tortillas, warmed

Steps

  1. Rub the flank steak with the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and a good sprinkle of salt
  2. And pepper. Then place into a shallow roasting dish and pour over the entire can of coke. Let sit
  3. For anywhere between 1 and 4 hours flipping the meat after an hour.
  4. Cook the steak on a hot grill pan or BBQ for 3 minutes each side. Let rest while you
