Simple Chocolate Pasta

Chocolate pasta? All your childhood dreams are finally coming true!

Ingredients

"Pasta"

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more if needed
  • 1/5 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • Pinch salt
  • 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • For serving:
  • Raspberries
  • Whipped cream
  • Orange zest

Nutella Cream Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups Nutella
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder

Steps

"Pasta"

  1. For the pasta: In the bowl of a stand mixer with the dough hook attached, add flour, powdered sugar, cocoa powder and salt. Turn mixer on low speed. While mixer is running, add chocolate syrup, eggs and vanilla. Increase speed to medium until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Transfer dough to a clean work surface. Using your hands, form dough into a ball, then shape into a disk. Wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 to 25 minutes.
  3. Lightly dust your work surface with cocoa powder, and lay out one-fourth of the dough. (Reserve remainder for another use.) Flatten dough slightly with your hands. Run dough through a pasta maker beginning with the widest setting. Fold into thirds. Set pasta maker to 2 and run dough through machine again. Fold into thirds again and run through pasta maker on setting 3. Fold dough into thirds and use a knife to cut lengthwise into linguini strips. Carefully separate strips, using more cocoa powder if needed to keep them from sticking.
  4. Add pasta to a large pot of boiling water. Cook for about 45 seconds, until noodles rise to the top. Remove from water and set aside.
  5. To assemble, toss pasta with chocolate sauce. Serve topped with whipped cream, berries and orange zest.

Nutella Cream Sauce

  1. In a medium glass bowl, add Nutella, heavy cream and cocoa powder.
  2. Place over a pot of simmering water.
  3. Whisk until a thick sauce forms.
