- So I model for a living, and I've found that eating certain foods gives me clearer skin, stronger hair and nails, and just an overall better energy to my day. I wanted to share those foods with you, so I'm gonna show you what I eat and what I avoid. Let's start with the nos, because I like to start with the nos so that we can get to the good stuff. Let's start with alcohol. Alcohol has a lot of sugar content, so it's gonna spike your blood sugar and it's just a big no. Anything processed, my big rule with shopping is I like to look at the label, and if there's a bunch of ingredients that I can't pronounce or I don't know what they are, I usually steer clear of it. So that's your processed food. The next is dairy. A lot of people find that when cutting out dairy, it clears up their skin, and that was certainly the case for me, it started glowing. So I cut out dairy and sugar. I personally identify as a sugar addict in every sense of the word, and I had to remove it from my diet just to keep a really good peace of mind. So these are the things that I avoid. Now, let's look at this as fuel. You're not gonna put a bunch of junky corn oil in a Maserati, are you? No, and you, my friend, you're a Maserati, and so I am here to tell you that you need Maserati fuel, and that's what this is. So let's start with kale. I love to get locally sourced organic ingredients as often as possible, kale is a great option. It's a little bit thicker, so with kale, I rip it off the stems and I massage it with some lemon and some olive oil, so that gets really romantic, massaging kale, but it really absorbs that in and it breaks the kale down a little bit. Wild salmon. Fish has a ton of healthy omega threes and it has a lot of those natural fish oils that are so good for your skin. That was my experience, and I really saw a huge difference. Another thing that I love is olives. Olives are super easy to just have on the go with you, and it's super fun to go to the grocery store and to go to the olive bar, it feels very fancy. So olives are a great choice. Avocado is my go-to, I always have an avocado in my purse, it's ready to go, and avocado is great because you can just throw it on anything, you can throw it in a salad, as a spread, you can make guacamole, whatever. Another thing, raw nuts. It's really great to have snacks like almonds and olives on hand for those moments when you feel low-energy and you're gonna reach for something that isn't ideal. If you have these in the car, I always have raw nuts in the car, and I don't eat a ton of nuts, but when the time comes and if I'm really hungry, that'll hold me over until I can get my next nutrient-dense meal. Sweet potato is one of my absolute favorites. I actually love to take a sweet potato and slice it this direction and make a bun out of it. So I don't eat gluten or bread, and so I use this as an option for buns, so I can make an avocado toast on a sweet potato bun or anything like that, but you can make mashed sweet potatoes, you can make sweet potato buns, you can dice it up and do it in a hash, it's very very versatile. Coconut oil, I use this for a lot of things. You can put coconut oil on your face at night, on the outside, it really helped my skin to really glow. It could be really helpful for something like that. So coconut oil is awesome to cook with. It has a really high smoke point, so what it means is you can cook at high temperatures without destroying the oil, which can happen with olive oil, so you want to be careful with that. So next is our tea. So I really love to drink matcha tea or green tea. Tea has a ton of really nourishing properties. It's really nice 'cause there's so many different options to choose from and it keeps things interesting when you're cutting back on processed food. And then the last thing is bone broth. I have a cup of bone broth before bed every single night. It's actually so so good for you because we take in all that gelatin and all that collagen that gets naturally found in it, and we absorb it into our bodies, and I saw a really big change with that. These are my top finds. You're gonna find these in my fridge and in my cabinet if you come over, and it really really made a difference for me, so I truly truly believe that food is the fuel with which we run on, and that's the quality of the life we're gonna have. So if you can fuel your machine for the most part with these sorts of things, you're gonna have a really really good experience.
