What happens when we combine an iconic American treat with a classic French pastry?

Ingredients

S’mores Cream Puffs

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 eggs
  • Graham crackers
  • Mini marshmallows

Filling

  • 2 packages instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk

Chocolate Glaze

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons light corn syrup

Steps

S’mores Cream Puffs

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Place butter and water in medium saucepan, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. As soon as mixture comes to a boil, remove from heat and stir in salt and flour until mixture forms a ball.
  3. Stir in eggs one at a time, working quickly so eggs don't scramble.
  4. Place batter into a pastry bag, and pipe out cream puffs. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Make the filling. Stir ingredients together, then place in fridge until ready to use (mixture will thicken).
  6. Make the glaze. Melt butter in the microwave. Stir in chocolate chips and corn syrup. Glaze may be reheated if it sets.
  7. Cut cream puffs in half, then fill with pastry cream. Dip in chocolate glaze and top with graham cracker crumbs and mini marshmallows. Torch marshmallows if desired.
