Sour Gummies

Spice up your regular sugar candy with homemade gummies tossed in a sour sugar coating.


  • 1 cup juice, any flavor
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 tbsp powdered gelatin
  • food coloring, optional
  • ½ cup superfine sugar
  • 5 tsp citric acid


  1. Sprinkle the gelatin into the water and let develop for 5 minutes.
  2. Pour the juice into a small pot and bring to a simmer. Add the sugar and whisk until dissolved. Add the gelatin and whisk until fully dissolved. Add some food colouring, if using. Pour the liquid into a container with an easy-pour spout.
  3. Pour the mixture into a gummy bear mold and place in the fridge until set, about 1 hour.
  4. Unmold and toss in citric acid. Enjoy!
