Enjoy homemade peanut butter with a spicy twist.

Spicy Peanut Butter

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of shelled peanuts (if you can get them raw, that's best)

  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 4 teaspoons oil (this can be peanut oil or really any oil you have on hand - in this video I used grapeseed oil; it just helps make it creamier)

Instructions

  1. Add the nuts, brown sugar, cayenne and oil to the blender or food processor. BLEND AWAY until it's nice and smooth! And enjoy!!!

  2. NOTE: Roasting the nuts first is optional here - we didn't for this video, but it would still be delicious to do so!

- Home made peanut butter with a spicy twist. So I'm a huge peanut butter fan I mean truth be told I'm a nut butter fan of all kinds and it is crazy easy to make at home. Start with some peanuts right put it in the blender, that's two cups of peanuts in there. You can also roast them a bit beforehand it adds kind of a nice flavor if you have time to do that. So I wanted to add a spicy kick to this right. So I'm gonna add a pinch or two of cayenne pepper it'll give a nice really subtle hint of spiciness it's gonna be so, so good and then to add a little bit of sweetness lets add in two table spoons of brown sugar. This is such an awesome nut butter recipe but you do need some oil in there to lubricate it a bit so we're gonna add in about four tablespoons of peanut oil. Alright so those are all of the components now we just blend it together. A quick pause to talk about texture here one of the amazing things about making nut butter at home is that you can totally make whatever kind of texture you like the best. So if you like really crunchy, make it crunchy and so then I would stop right now. If you like it smooth keep grinding, I'll keep grinding. - This looks so good. Alright so I decided to go super creamy with this, oh my gosh this looks amazing. Oh yeah this looks so good, look at that fresh home made nut butter you saw how easy this is to do there's no reason you can't do this yourself and the best thing about nut butter at home is that not only can you make the texture exactly how you like it, so I wanted it super creamy today, which is exactly what I got, but you can also mix and match to exactly what you love so maybe instead of the cayenne I would do cinnamon, maybe instead of peanuts I do almonds or cashews or hazelnuts. Maybe instead of brown sugar I do maple syrup. Options are endless, let's dig in. Mmm Mmm I mean that is so good. I would buy this from a grocery store in a heart beat but I don't have to because I just made it,mmmm yum, so you know what I'm going to do with the rest of this, I'm going to keep it in the fridge it'll be good for a couple weeks and I can keep enjoying it as the days go on. Don't forget guys, keep it creamy.
