Spring Rolls with Sakura Petals

  • 50g somen noodles
  • 5 slices deli ham
  • 5 sheets spring roll wrappers
  • Kinshi-Tamago (shredded egg crepes), as needed
  • Spring mix salad (greens)
  • 15 boiled shrimp
  • Chervil, as needed
  • Sweet chili sauce, as needed
  • Advance Preparation:
  • Thinly shred red cabbage, radish, and carrot and mix.

Shredded Vegetables

  • Red cabbage, as needed
  • Daikon radish, as needed
  • Carrot, as needed


Spring Rolls with Sakura Petals

  1. Boil somen noodles for 2 minutes, then rinse with cold water and drain.
  2. Cut out sliced ham into sakura (cherry blossom) petal shapes.
  3. Dip rice paper into water for a few seconds and place them on a cutting board.
  4. Layer the somen noodles, Kinshi-Tamago, shredded vegetables, spring mix, and shrimp (in this order).
  5. Place sakura petals and chervil around the filling and fold the bottom of the wrapper and roll up over the ingredients.
