Strawberry Nutella Calzones

There is no resisting pizza dough stuffed with homemade Nutella, strawberries and marshmallows.

Ingredients

Strawberry Nutella Calzones

  • 12 ounces pizza dough
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 6 large marshmallows
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Confectioner's sugar, for dusting

Homemade Nutella

  • 1 cup hazelnuts, toasted
  • 12 ounces milk chocolate, melted
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons confectioner's sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Steps

Strawberry Nutella Calzones

  1. Divide the pizza dough into 6 pieces.
  2. Working with one piece of dough at a time, roll it out onto a sheet of parchment paper until it is a circle, 7 inches in diameter.
  3. Spread some Nutella onto the bottom half of the circle and arrange some sliced strawberries on top.
  4. Place marshmallows on top.
  5. Brush the lower edges with the beaten egg and fold the dough closed to form a calzone.
  6. Pinch the edges together to seal, then use a fork to seal even more.
  7. Transfer the calzones to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the surface with more egg wash and bake at 450F for 10 minutes, until they puff up and turn a golden brown.
  9. Transfer to a baking sheet and cool for 15 minutes.
  10. Drizzle with extra Nutella and dust with icing sugar and enjoy!

Homemade Nutella

  1. Place the hazelnuts in a food processor and pulse until they form a paste.
  2. Add the vegetable oil, confectioner's sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract and salt and pulse until very smooth.
  3. Add the milk chocolate and pulse until smooth.
  4. Strain the Nutella through a sieve to remove any chunks.
  5. Pour into a bowl and cool to room temperature.
