Takoyaki 4 Ways
This popular Japanese street food is good whether you're looking for something sweet or savory.
Ingredients
- 6 1/2 tablespoons takoyaki flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 egg
- 0.7 ounces mentaiko (pollock roe)
- 6 small squares cream cheese
- Otafuku brand sauce, to taste
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine flour water and egg.
- Pour batter into a takoyaki grill plate. Add mentaiko and cream cheese to each ball. Let 1 side cook, then turn batter over and shape into spheres. Cook thoroughly.

- 1 1/2 eggs
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 tablespoons milk
- 4 1/2 tablespoons cooked rice
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 4 small pieces sausage
Steps
- In a small bowl, whisk eggs with salt, pepper and milk. In a separate small bowl, combine the rice, ketchup and sausage.
- Pour batter into a takoyaki grill plate. Add rice and sausage mixture to each ball. Let 1 side cook, then turn batter over and shape into spheres. Cook thoroughly.
- Garnish and serve!

- 4 small pieces chocolate
- Chocolate sauce
- Raspberry flakes
