Tokonatsu Watermelon Bread

Ingredients

  • For the bread dough:

  • 2 cups bread flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 3/4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 teaspoon yeast

  • To finish dough:

  • 1 tablespoon strawberry powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon cocoa powder

  • 3 tablespoons chocolate chips

  • 1 tablespoon matcha

  • 1 teaspoon dark cocoa powder

  • To decorate:

  • Whipped cream

  • Pocky sticks

  • Kiwi fruit

  • Tangerines

  • Cherries

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add bread dough ingredients and knead until combined. Separate dough into one large piece, one medium piece and two small pieces.

  2. Mix the strawberry powder and the cocoa powder into the large bread dough piece and then mix in the chocolate chips. Form the dough back into a sphere and then roll into a cylinder. Wrap the small white dough around the red dough.

  3. Add matcha to the medium dough piece and mix to create the green dough. Wrap this around the cylinder.

  4. Add dark cocoa powder to the remaining small piece of dough. Roll out and cut into 8 long strips. Place strips across the top of the dough cylinder.

  5. Place bread in a half round loaf pan and let it proof for 40 minutes at room temperature.

  6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake bread for 35 minutes. Allow to cool, then slice into pieces.

  7. Decorate with whipped cream and your favorite fruits to serve.
