Tuna Katsu With Avocado Sauce

Seared crispy tuna topped with citrusy mashed avocado is the savory dish you need in your life.


  • 1 block tuna
  • Two pinches of salt
  • Pepper
  • Flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Panko bread crumbs
  • Black sesame seeds
  • Oil for frying
  • Sauce:
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 teaspoon wasabi
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper


  1. Combine panko and black sesame seeds and mix together. Set aside for now.
  2. Make sure your tuna is sashimi-grade and kept inside the refrigerator until just before using to keep it fresh.
  3. Season the tuna with salt and pepper, gently rubbing it into the flesh. Dip the tuna in flour and then the beaten egg. Finally coat well with panko mixture.
  4. Fry in hot oil at 190 degrees C for 40-50 seconds.
  5. Slice tuna and transfer to a plate with baby greens and lemon wedge.
  6. To make the sauce, combine all ingredients for the sauce and mix well.
  7. Pour the sauce over the tuna and enjoy.
