How to Make the Ultimate Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary lovers, listen up! Take your fave brunch cocktail to the next level by freezing cubes of plant-powered V8® Spicy Hot and adding a delicious bacon straw. Sponsored by V8

Ingredients

Bloody Mary Ice Cubes

  • 3/4 cup V8® Spicy Hot
  • 1/2 jalapeno, thinly sliced

Tomato Salt

  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp fine salt

Bacon Straws

  • 4 pieces bacon
  • 4 paper or metal straws

Bloody Mary

  • 2 cups V8 Spicy Hot
  • Vodka
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Celery salt
  • Hot sauce
  • Lemon juice
  • Celery stick
  • Lemon wheel

Steps

Bloody Mary Ice Cubes

  1. Fill an ice cube tray with V8 Spicy Hot, add the jalapeno slices, and freeze for a minimum of 8 hours.

Tomato Salt

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Spread the tomato paste in a thin, even layer onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes or until dried out, then set aside to cool. Break into pieces and add to a spice grinder, then pulse until a fine powder. Add the salt and pulse again until combined then set aside.

Bacon Straws

  1. Increase the oven temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Wrap each straw with a piece of bacon- twisting it around, overlapping slightly until all the paper is covered. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes or until crisp and golden. Set aside to cool, then remove the paper straws.

Bloody Mary

  1. Make a traditional Bloody Mary using V8 Spicy Hot, vodka, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, hot sauce and lemon juice.
  2. To assemble, dip the rim of two tall glasses in a shallow saucer of water, then straight into another shallow saucer of the tomato salt. Fill the glasses with the V8 ice cubes then add Bloody Mary mix. Garnish with a stick of celery and a wheel of lemon.
