Welcome to our cooking experience that will broadcast live from Athens, Greece! In Greece we love orzo pasta. We make a very popular dish called “giouvetsi” where the orzo is cooked in the oven in clay pots along with the juices of braised meat, usually lamb or beef. More recently, many Greek chefs have started cooking giouvetsi in the pot using the same method as risotto, producing great results and steering away from the classical version by including many new ingredients and flavor profiles. Thus, “kritharoto” (directly translated to orzotto in English, not to be mistaken with the Italian version though that typically uses barley) was developed, a very versatile 1 pot dish that is easy to make, lends itself perfectly for last minute dinners and tastes delicious. We will pair it with chicken and broccoli and we will present useful ideas on how to make use of the whole broccoli, stems and all that will take the dish to the next level and prove quite handy for your cooking in general. - upon reserving your space, you will receive a private link to the livestream - detailed info (recipes, etc.) you will need to prepare for the cook along - class will be recorded and available for viewing at any later time
